Open House 2017
This annual event is held each October to educate our Community in fire prevention and home safety.The date has been announced, Saturday October 14th. Attendance has grown over the years, with attendance in years past being in the hundreds of visitors. 

Nationwide, Fire Prevention Week starts on the Sunday preceding the week with the 18th of October, in which the 9th of October is the date of the Great Chicago fire.

Come join the Glenn Dale Volunteer Fire Department as we continue to make Glenn Dale a safer place to live. Help us help you by attending a full day of fun, sights and sounds. See live demonstrations and displays of fire trucks, as well as other public safety vehicles/equipment.  This year, we will follow the theme established by the National Fire Protection Association for Fire Prevention Week, "Have 2 Ways Out."

  •   9-1-1 emergency system demonstrations
  •   Free blood pressure checks on request
  •   Automobile fire and extrication demonstrations
  •   Fire sprinkler demonstration trailer
  •   Fire safety trailer
  •   Fire safety brochures and handbooks
  •   Fun activities and fire hats for the kids!
  •   Medevac helicopter (subject to availability)
Our membership table will be set  up all day as well, come talk to us to see if you have what it takes to be a Volunteer Fire and/or EMS personnel. See You There!
