**Rental Hall

   THE WILLIAM HOWZDY MEMORIAL HALL

 The William Howzdy Memorial Hall is located on the second floor of the Glenn Dale Fire Association, Inc.  The facility is available for private banquets, birthday parties, and celebrations.  The Hall is accessible via two stairwells and an elevator, and has a maximum capacity of 200 guests.  Funds raised from these rentals go directly to the operating expenses of our volunteer fire department, which consists mostly of fire apparatus payments.

AMENITIES

     The facility is capable of supporting a number of different functions, with movable walls that create three breakout rooms, and drop down projector screens for overhead presentations.  A kitchen facility is available for warming up food, and includes a stainless steel sink with garbage disposal, stove, refrigerator with freezer, microwave oven, and ice maker.  Both men's and women's restrooms are available.

     Round tables capable of seating 10 guests per table are available, as are rectangular tables that can seat 6 to 8 guests depending on floor layout.  Chairs are provided, and a smaller round cake table is available upon request.

The Fine Print

  • The user/renter may not charge their guests a fee or ask for a donation to attend the event
  • Beverages in open containers are not to be removed from the hall area
  • Rice, birdseed, confetti, glitter, or similar items are not permitted in the hall or on the grounds
  • The user/renter will remove all decorations and anything used to affix them to the walls, ceilings, or furniture
  • Double-sided tape and adhesives are not to be used
  • The user/renter must clean the kitchen area, bag all trash and wipe down all tables
  • Children are counted as guests and included in your contract.  Children will be monitored and not be left unattended at any time
  • Smoking is prohibited in the building, including the stairwells
  • All guests must remain in the banquet hall area.  All other areas of the building are off limits
  • If the user/renter exceeds the number of guests agreed upon, they will be required to pay the appropriate hall rental fee in CASH
  • The user/renter is ultimately responsible for the conduct of their guests
  • Alcoholic beverages may be served but cannot be sold
  • The Glenn Dale Fire Association, Inc. is not responsible for acts of God and will only cancel events if the Governor issues a State of Emergency
  • The ice machine is a convenience and not a guarantee

Pricing

  • 0 - 100 guests             $700
  • 101 - 150 guests         $900
  • 151 - 200 guests        $1100

Prices include five (5) hours for the event, and two (2) hours prior to event for set up and decoration.  Events are expected to end by 1am, but may be extended until 2am with an additional $100 fee.  No events are permitted beyond 2am.

At contract signing, a deposit of $300 is due.  The deposit is refundable if the event is cancelled, in writing, no less than thirty-one (31) days prior to the event.  The event must be completely paid for no less than thirty (30) days prior to the event.  Rental prices are non-negotiable.

1.  Up to how many people can I rent the hall for? Answer: 200 people max.

2 . How many hours can I rent the hall for? Answer: The hall is rented in 5 hour blocks and $100 every additional hour up to 2 a.m.

3.  What do I need to do to reserve the date I want? Answer: $300 deposit and a signed contract

4. Can we sell tickets at the door? Answer: NO

5. How early can I show up to set up the hall? Answer: 2 hours prior to your start time

6. How late can we stay? Answer:  For an additional $100 you can stay up to 2am.

7. My husband is a volunteer at x firehouse, can I get a discount? Answer: NO

8. Can I bring my own security? Answer: NO

9. Do you provide security? If so, how can I get it? Answer: Yes, you will be informed when you sign a contract.

10.  Can we bring/sell alcohol? Answer: Answer: You can serve alcohol, you may NOT sell it.

11. Can I bring my own food? Answer: Yes

12. Can we decorate the hall? Yes, however if your decorations create damage you are responsible for the cost of repair.

13. Is there an elevator? Answer: Yes

14. Can the hall be set up before I get there? Answer: Yes

15. Where do we park? Answer: Hall parking is located behind the firehouse, look for signs, DO NOT BLOCK FIRE APPARATUS or BAYS.
