On March 28, 2026 around 1:40pm, Engine 181 was alerted to respond as the first due engine company for box 48-07 in the 6700 Block of 96th Avenue in Lanham Chief 18A (Wood) responded on the call as well. Battallion Chief 881 arrived on scene first and advised of a working structure fire with fire showing from the basement division. Upon the arrival of Engine 181 they quickly were able to deploy a handline through Division 1 and extinguished the fire. Chief 18A arrived on scene with Engine 181 and operated at the command post throughout the incident. Engine 181 remained on scene for a little over an hour and returned to service.
