Late in the evening on Tuesday April 15, 2025, Box 18-08 was dispatched for a house fire with entrapment in the 11000 Block of Elon Dr, bringing Rescue Engine 18 as the first due engine. The Rescue Engine initiated a forward lay and arrived to a 2 story single family with fire showing from the rear of the second floor. The crew immediately deployed the 200’ 1-1/2” bumper line to the second floor to begin knocking the fire while simultaneously beginning primary searches. The crew from Truck 28 (1st truck) and Squad 6 (search company) removed one trapped occupant who was transported Priority 1. Chief 18A (Wood) was assigned the Division 2 supervisory position. The fire was quickly knocked and crews remained on scene for several hours completing overhaul before returning to service.
