On July 29, 2024 At 2:14pm, communications dispatched companies to box 18-01 in the 10500 BLK of Greenbelt Rd for a building fire. Rescue Engine 18 arrived as the first due engine to a 1 story end of the row commercial with fire showing from the B side. The crew advanced a 250’ attack line to extinguish the fire, as well as forcing entry to the structure to check for extension. The fire was contained to the patio and side of the building thanks to a quick response and quick stretch by the company. Chief 18A (George) held the Greenbelt Rd command and Chief 18 (Postell) (as the Volunteer Duty Chief) assisted at the command post. Crews remained on scene for an hour and a half completing overhaul before returning to service.
