On June 17th, 2026, just after clearing a local alarm in Co. 16’s area, communications alerted units to the 9200 Block Morley Rd on Box 28-06 for a report of a house on fire. Rescue Engine 18 was due and arrived as the first due engine company. Battalion Chief 1 arrived just ahead of Rescue Engine 18 to find a 2-story split foyer with fire showing from the 2nd floor. Rescue Engine 18 took their own hydrant and stretched a line to the number 2 floor to extinguish the bulk of the fire. Volunteer Duty Chief Postell assisted at the Command Post. Searches proved negative and the company operated for approximately 2 hours before returning to service.
