On May 27, 2025, Rescue Engine 18was alerted as the fourth due engine for a house on fire in the 300 Block of Serena St on Box 46-13. First arriving units had fire showing from the B side of a 2 story split level. The driver picked up the third due engine’s supply line and crew took their assigned position as Rapid Intervention, which included “softening the building”. The crew deployed ground ladders and forced doors to assist units operating inside. The crew was later redeployed for overhaul on the second floor. The rescue engine remained on scene for approx. 1-1/2 hours before returning to Glenn Dale.
