Tower 18 and Chief 18 Run House Fire in Springdale
On March 12th, 2025 around 4:30pm, Tower Ladder 18 was dispatched as the first due truck for a report of fire in the house in the 3400 Bock of Lottsford Vista Rd, in Co. 6’s area. Chief 18 also marked up on the box. The first battalion chief arrived to a 2 story single-family with smoke showing from the second floor and the working fire dispatch was sounded. Units from 18 arrived shortly after and reported to the second floor to complete searches and open up for the engines, while the outside team deployed ladders to the alpha side and made their way inside. The Fire Chief was assigned the Division 2 supervisor position. There, crews were met with high heat conditions and a bedroom on fire in the Delta quadrant with extension into the attic. The fire was knocked and searches were negative. Units from 18 remained on scene for approximately 2 hours before returning to service. This fire was held in check by a singe closed bedroom door, preventing further extension to the rest of the second floor. While this incident occurred during the daytime, it is a reminder to always close before you doze.
