On June 29, 2025 Tower 18 was alerted the second due truck on the box assignment for an apartment building fire in the 9500 Block Ruby Lockhart Boulevard in Co. 6’s area. Chief 18 (Postell) responded on the box assignment well. First arriving units had smoke showing from the roof of a 4 story apartment building. Fire was discovered to be contained to the attic space above the living units. The Tower crew split crews with 3 members inside to pull ceilings in the adjacent units and 2 to the roof to vertically ventilate. Chief 18 assisted on scene at the command post. Crews from 18 remained on scene for approximately 2 hours before returning to service.
