On February 8, 2024 around 4:46pm, Rescue Engine 18, Chief 18 and Chief 18A responded to a first due box alarm in the 11300 BLK of Strawberry Glenn Ln for a reported house fire. Chief 18A was first arriving to a 2 story single family with nothing evident and established the Glenn Dale command. The Rescue Engine arrived moments later and took their own hydrant. Upon completion of the 360 and making entry, crews discovered smoke showing from the eaves and front door. A small fire was located in the bravo quadrant of division 2. Chief 18 was assigned as the Division 2 supervisor. Crews worked on opening the attic space to check for fire extension. All searches of the house were negative. The assignment was quickly scaled back to 1 & 1 before returning to service.
